Buying country houses in Aveiro
The north central part of Portugal is infested with sandy coastlines along with extensive areas devoted to pine forests and are characterized by the presence of sand dunes. The region is dominated by the presence of fertile plain areas formed by the river valleys and the estuary of the river Volga can be noticed in the towns of Ovar and Aveiro. It is a preferred location for villas.
Aveiro is undisputedly one of the most beautiful cities of Portugal and is situated in the north central part of the Portuguese territory. The central attraction of the town is the lagoon which extends up to a distance of around 11,000 hectares and is intercepted by innumerable islands and contains a total of four inlets. It is considered to be a wonderful sight to watch the reflection of the lightings that illuminate the town in the evening as they fall upon the waters of the lagoon. The lagoon was formed in the 16th century as a result of ruthless storms which had befallen this erstwhile sea port town. In the lagoon, specially designed colorful boats known as ‘moliceiro’ are the only means of transportation in the canal.
The town of Aveiro is a well-loved and preferred location for the location of villas and country houses because of the town’s exquisite beauty and the landscape is further beautified by the presence of well-built and well-conceived manors and mansions which add to its splendor and most of these country houses of the region are designed in the same way. It is to be noted that since Aveiro happened to be a sea port in the past, much of its local cuisine is sea food based like fish soups cooked from the fish obtained from the lagoon and also sweet dishes like ovos moles which are entertaining to guests who undoubtedly prefer to spend their times in the villas of this region.
